| BRAVURA SUMMER CAMPS 2011
Our summer camps this past summer were a huge success, we were sorry not to be able to open our doors to more students from the community. Our Composing camp was a lot of fun and we were happy to have the kids spend time with a professional composer and learn what it is and how he goes about composing for a living. He helped them to compose their own jingle to advertise everything from Dunkin' Donuts to Stinky Socks Inc... Our piano and Guitar camp were a buzz with 100% attendance! Students had daily theory, rhythm, group classes and mini-private lessons each day. The volumes of music covered in these 10 hour camps totaled more than a normal school quarter! What a shot in the arm for everyone involved. Our Symphony Sprouts II and Young Musicians II have all graduated and are ready for their next step this semester. Look out for these new families, these kids and parents are rearin' to go! Our one camp that usually brings in students from other area teachers, was the lowest in numbers in 6 years, but what an amazing time we had. The level of musicianship and music that we tackled in our 10 hours was of very high quality. It was amazing the volume of pizza that was consumed in a very short time prior to our final concert. This concert in quality and content was voted the 2nd best of the entire school year. (Rivaled only by our Annual Survivor Concert:))
Plans for Summer 2012 will be in the works this winter, plan to spend some of your summer with us next year.
